The Xiaomi 17 Pro This is Innovation
The Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are new 2025 flagships featuring a rear secondary display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 silicon, Leica-tuned triple 50 MP cameras, and Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 3 software based on Android 16. The Pro Max steps up with a larger 6.9-inch 2K-class panel, a bigger 7,500 mAh battery with 100 W fast charging, and a 5x periscope telephoto, while the 17 Pro is the smaller, lighter option with a 6.3-inch display and 6,300 mAh cell.
Highlights
Both Pro models add a functional rear screen for widgets, notifications, music, and camera previews, evolving Xiaomi’s dual-screen idea into a mainstream candy-bar flagship design.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 debuts in the series, paired with HyperOS 3 on Android 16 for performance and AI features tuned across the system and secondary display surface.
Battery longevity targets two days on the Pro models thanks to an efficient new display stack and an L-shaped battery design, with the Pro Max offering the largest 7,500 mAh capacity and 100 W wired charging.

Cameras
Leica co-engineering returns with triple 50 MP sensors, and the Pro Max adds a 5x periscope telephoto that pairs reach with a larger sensor and fast aperture for low-light telephoto work. The rear display doubles as a live camera viewfinder for ultra-high-quality selfies and framing flexibility, which is a practical upgrade over relying on the front camera alone.
Battery and charging
An innovative L-shaped cell architecture helps fit more capacity without increasing bulk, enabling the Pro Max’s 7,500 mAh pack and strong endurance claims alongside fast charging support. Both Pro devices support 100 W wired and 50 W wireless charging, with the Pro Max maintaining slim dimensions despite the battery size.
Rear display features
The “Dynamic Back Display” handles glanceable info, music controls, camera preview, AI pins for quick items like QR codes, and select partner-app notifications, with broader third-party support ramping post-China launch. An optional Retro Handheld Console Case adds physical controls and enables select games entirely on the back screen for a playful twist.

In China, the 17 Pro Max starts at CNY 5,999 for 12 GB + 512 GB, with higher tiers up to CNY 6,999, while the 17 begins at CNY 4,499 and the 17 Pro around CNY 5,000.
