Share status updates
allow users to share their status updates to Facebook stories without leaving WhatsApp. Previously, it was already possible to share status updates to Facebook stories, but users had to take the extra step of manually sharing the update each time they posted something new. Thanks to this new feature under development, the process may be automatic for certain status updates you choose, when the option is enabled:

Locked chats
allow users to lock their chats. Thanks to this feature, you will be able to lock specific chats by using a passcode or fingerprint, so nobody can open them in case they use your phone. It is still in development but, thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.8.5 update, we discovered that WhatsApp is now working on an entry point to open and manage locked chats:
The feature that allows users to lock their chats is under development and it will be released in a future update of the app.
Status tab, now called “Updates”. The revamped tab will also include a redesigned interface for status updates, that will appear horizontally in the future.
15 additional durations – disappearing messages
r disappearing messages. The update would bring 15 new durations for disappearing messages, in addition to those already available such as 24 hours, 7 days, and 90 days. Thanks to these new durations, disappearing messages will be an even more relevant option and will attract more users
Manage contacts within the app
add contacts or edit their information without having to leave the app. It’s worth noting that there already was a shortcut to add contacts, but it would redirect users to their device’s contacts app
